I am SOOOOOO sorry that I haven't posted in FOREVER but you know life is just plain CRAZY right now, but things are going to start getting even CRAZIER!! :)
I never really had a chance to tell you what happened in the last three weeks Alissa and I were in South Africa, but it changed my life, and is still bringing new changes to my life.
Working with the kids with disabilities at the school and especially at the group home (AKA getting to love on my babies :)) made me feel complete. I FINALLY felt like I was doing what God created me to do.
I've loved Africa since the 7th grade and I have never had a reason, I've just been obessed. I've wanted to learn as much about the cultures and the people and I have always wanted to go. Little did I know that God was going to turn this crazy, wonderful obession into a passion for His people, and particularly His little children in South Africa!
I've been praying about this for the last 5 years and God has finally opened the doors and is allowing me to go to Grabouw, South Africa as a long term missionary!!!!!!! I will hopefully be going for a two year term starting in August of this year. God's timing is so perfect!!! I don't always understand His timing, but I know He has kept me here in the States for a reason, and now He is allowing me to follow my heart back to South Africa. PTL!!!!
I would greatly appreciate your prayers and support. Lots of changes are coming quickly and lots of things must be done before I can go- particularly finishing my teaching career (for now) strong and sane. I will be a volunteer teacher and worker, so I will have to raise monthly support. I have to raise 75% of what I need before I can go. I am not worried, because as it was so wonderfully said at my Perspectives class tonight, "God will enable those He has called." This is His work, for His Kingdom, and I know that He will work in a mighty way to provide for me in this way!!!
